FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE AND FAITH
Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, has recently made changes to the eligibility requirements
for the Canada Summer Jobs program that would render faith-based organizations
ineligible for funding. The requirements specifically state on the application that
the organization supports abortion as part of the Canadian Charter of Rights and
Freedoms (see letter on bulletin board). Our MLA, Candice Bergen, is urging all
churches to stand up for these rights by:
1. Writing the Prime Minister and Minister responsible for the Canada Summer
jobs program at Justin.Trudeau@parl.gc.ca and Patty.Hajdu@parl.gc.ca and
ask them to reverse this decision.
2. Sign the online petition #1434 on the House of Commons Website to show
your opposition.
3. Write Letters to the Editor to your local papers as well as the Winnipeg Free
Press.
